This Is How to Create Cleaner UI Designs
Creating UI Designs that look clean is easier than one thinks. The fact is the principles are quite simple where anyone can follow and drastically improve their visual content. in this article, I will show you some of my favorite tricks to give your UI the clean look it needs.
Use Fewer Colors
Colors play an important role in UI Design. But this does not mean one should play around with all the colors in a single UI. What matters is delivering a harmonious color scheme. To achieve this is one should use lesser colors. This is because when too many colors are used, it tends to become distracting, one way to do this is to use Monochromatic color palettes.
Lesser Font Weights.
A study shows that 70% of UI Design depends on typography, this is because it is the best source of communicating with anyone. To achieve good typography in UI Design, one should use font weights with caution, using very bold font weights can make the UI feel cluttered. This does not mean one should go below lightweight (especially for small text), but heavy fonts like ExtraBold or Black should be avoided.
Unbox Images
Imagery communicates and differentiates a product through visuals. Imagery can both enhance the user experience and express a brand's visual language, images also help to tell a story, clarify complex messages and show users how to act. The uses and applications of images in UI cannot be overemphasized, so therefore it is important to make the images as interactivity unique as possible, one way to do this is to unbox the images. This may not be possible every single time because one usually doesn't control all images in the design, but unboxing images can make your UI Designs look a lot better.
Avoid Margins
Space is everywhere - it's all over this article. Spacing and margins are some of the key secrets experienced designers use to create well-balanced designs. Using space effectively in your UI layout helps increase readability, provide feedback and draw the reader important parts of the screen. A method of giving your UI Design space is avoiding margins. All elements should have a proper distance between each other and screen edges. This way the interface looks way better and cleaner.
Use Less Borders
Borders are amazing in UI Design, especially for separation between elements, but while borders are a great way to distinguish two elements from one another, they aren't the only way, and using them too much can make your designs feel busy and cluttered. Instead of using borders (or strokes), just using soft drop shadows in your designs can go a long way. This is a simple yet effective tip for having a clear and better UI. So next time you need to create separation between two elements, try to resist immediately reaching for a border.
Use an Awesome Font
When it comes to choosing a font, there's a lot to consider such as the brand's personality, the product or service on offer, and the audience. With infinite different font designs on offer, each bringing its mood and style to the table, choosing the right font should not be a quick decision. While it is tempting to use multiple typefaces within a single design. If you want to make the product stand out, you should use a modern font. This helps to distinguish your UI as well as give it the modern feel it needs.
